Our Vision Statement.

We want to come into an interactive relationship with Jesus Christ so that we can be effective in the ministry of the Gospel, and edify our brothers and sisters, in Christ. (see Philippians 3:7-10)

Why do we need a vision?

  • People without a vision will perish! (Proverbs 29:18)
  • To help bring unity.
  • Clear direction in doing GOD’s will for our church.
  • A reminder.

A break-down of the vision for Spears Creek…

  • Our knowing Christ changes our lives in an effective way.
  • Our knowing Christ motivates us to give of ourselves completely in the work of the ministry.
  • Our knowing Christ moves us into intimate fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Being effective because of changed lives…

  • Our goal – through intense Bible study and personal experience we will live our lives changed to the glory of GOD. (see Hosea 4:6 and 2 Corinthians 5:17)

Motivated in ministry…

  • Our goal – through community missions projects and evangelism we will minister in the name of the LORD. (see Matthew 25:40)

Intimate fellowship…

  • Our goal – through prayer cottages and prayer partners and by instigating individual times of fellowship within the body of Christ, we will grow in unity. (see Galatians 6:1-5)

With this vision, and our lives, we at Spears Creek seek to honor and to bring glory to our LORD Jesus Christ.

How to become a CHRISTIAN?

            1. Acknowledge GOD and humble yourself:

“Ever since GOD created the world, his invisible qualities, both his eternal power and his divine nature, have been clearly seen; they are perceived in the things that GOD has made. So those people have no excuse at all!” ~ Romans 1:20 (TEV)

            2. Realize that everyone needs forgiveness:

“…everyone has sinned and is far away from GOD’s saving presence.” ~ Romans 3:23 (TEV)

            3. Believe He provided a way:

“But GOD has shown us how much he loves us – it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us!” ~ Romans 5:8 (TEV)

            4. Understand that we only deserved one thing:

“For sin pays its wage – death; but GOD’s free gift is eternal life in union with Christ Jesus our Lord.” ~ Romans 6:23 (TEV)

            5. Ask to be saved from what you deserve:

“If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that GOD raised him from death, you will be saved. For it is by our faith that we are put right with GOD; it is by our confession that we are saved.” ~ Romans 10:9-10 (TEV)

            6. Know that it is guaranteed:

“As the scripture says, ‘Everyone who calls out to the Lord for help will be saved.” ~ Romans 10:13 (TEV)

            7. He owns it all anyway – why not give yourself to Him?

“For all things were created by him, and all things exist through him and for him. To GOD be the glory forever! Amen.” ~ Romans 11:36 (TEV)

            8. Pray and receive him into your heart:

Dear GOD, my heavenly Father, today I confess that you are God and I bow before you to ask for your forgiveness.

I believe, GOD, that you loved me enough that you sent part of yourself – in the form of Jesus – to Earth, to make it possible for mankind to spend eternity with you, in Heaven.

I know your Son, Jesus, was beaten, hung on a cross, killed, and buried – and he did this for all the bad things I have done, and will do.

GOD, I also know that your love, your power and your plan raised him back to life.

Jesus, I ask that you be the LORD and SAVIOR of my life.

Holy Spirit, come and comfort and guide me in this Way.

LORD, I want my soul saved from going straight to Hell.

I thank you for hearing my prayer, I believe you have a plan and purpose for me, and I ask that you bring fellow brothers and sisters into my life to mentor, love and fellowship with me.

Father, GOD, grow me in to the person you would have me to be. Amen.

How to become a MEMBER?

There are three ways, once you have accepted Jesus Christ as both LORD and SAVIOR.

    1. By baptism. Baptism is an outward sign of a inward decision. It is a public proclamation of what GOD has accomplished privately. Baptism is symbolic in the death and burial of Christ (being placed beneath the surface of the water in the baptismal pool) and being raised to new life in Christ (being lifted up out of the water). The type of baptism we offer is Biblical, and is called ‘emersion’.
    2. By letter. A letter from another Southern Baptist church sent to our church office at the request of the new member.
    3. By statement. After speaking with the pastor, and explaining the circumstances by which number 1 (above) has been accomplished and why number 2 (above) cannot be provided, the new member makes a statement to the church body.
